RELLIS Library

In addition to providing library services, the Learning Resource Center (LRC) in ACB2 is home to a Writing Center that is open to all students on the RELLIS campus, regardless of school or program. 

Trained and credentialed tutors certified by the College Reading & Learning Association are available to assist not only with class writing assignments, but also with resumes, cover letters, transfer essays, and other writing projects.  Tutors do not correct students' work.  Instead, they focus on elements such as structure, thesis, organization, and content, working with students to make them stronger writers.  Tutors can help with any stage of the process, from understanding the assignment to brainstorming, outlining, revising, and citing.  Tutors can also review a piece of writing before submission and help to understand comments on graded work.

 Appointments are 45 minutes long.  A student may sign up for one appointment per day and two appointments per week.  A student who is 15 minutes late for an appointment forfeits the appointment.  Students are welcome, of course, to come to the LRC before their appointments begin.  Walk-ins are welcome, but are not guaranteed a session.

A student should bring two copies of their draft and their instructor's assignment.  One set of copies will be for the tutor to work with and will be retained by the tutor. 

Blinn students cannot print in the LRC and therefore should print out their copies before coming to their appointment.  On the RELLIS campus, the closest place they can make copies is in the Schwartz Building.

Blinn students can also make use of the Writing Center on the Bryan Campus, either in-person or online.
