Types of Resources to Use in Your Research

Reference books -- mainly scholarly encyclopedias and subject-specific dictionaries. Helps to start with a good general background knowledge of your topic.
Books -- for broad coverage of a subject at a moderate to deep level.
Articles from periodicals (newspapers, magazines, scholarly journals) -- to hone in on the specifics, or bring knowledge from books up to date.

The Blinn College District Associate of Science Degree in Computer Science provides students the general education, mathematics, and science courses normally taken in the first two years of a computer science program at a four-year college or university while providing flexibility for individual interests. The Computer Science degree is based on the 42-hour Core Curriculum, and represents the first two years of a four-year degree, which vary from university to university. Students transferring should always consult with an advisor or articulation officer from their receiving institution.
